Shaggy's on the Gulf Coast

We had a great time with our friends, Ed and Jan MacDiarmid in Pass Christian, Mississippi. (Pass Christian was almost wiped off the map during Hurricane Katrina in 2005). After an afternoon driving around looking at neighborhoods where most of the houses were destroyed from the winds and the tidal surges, we settle in to a lovely sunset (and moon rise) on the front porch with a glass of wine followed by dinner at Shaggy's Harbor Bar and Grill, a new place on the Gulf of Mexico in Pass Christian near Bay St. Louis. Think barefoot at the beach, casual dining with friendly service and delicious food.

I had the seared tuna appetizer served with seaweed and wasabi which was all I could eat after two days of lunch and dinner in New Orleans. I would highly recommend Shaggy's especially for their local catfish, oysters, shrimp, gumbo, crawfish and more. I just happened to want tuna which you know isn't local.
