Sweet and Savory: Food Photography and Styling Workshop

Last weekend's 3-day workshop on Food Photography and Food Styling at the Institute of Culinary Education with Jim Peterson, the cookbook author, chef/teacher and photographer, Laurie Knoop, food stylist and Matthew Noel, food photographer from Louisiana, proved to be a totally fun and educational course. (See Matt's Finding Flavors blog for a great picture of me pouring syrup over the pancakes.)

Our team styled the artichoke, pancakes, chicken sandwich and bowl of pasta. These are the best of over 300 shots on my Nikon D90.

Interesting photos. Like the styling in most of them... Lighting... ummm not sure I like harsh lights. In my opinion food looks better in soft light and without shadow.
