Winter Farmers Markets in New York City

I can't seem to get much local food off season unless I go to one of GrowNYC's Greenmarkets that's open all year round (or use up the remaining pantry and freezer items that I have carefully rationed since last summer).

This time of year, whenever I can I pick up local fare at Union Square, which is a hike from my apartment, and occasionally get over to 77th and Columbus when I'm in town on Sunday.

Some of my winter favorites....local seafood, milk, ice cream and cheese, dried beans, wheat and corn flour, baked goods, pork, beef, chicken, duck and turkey (especially turkey sausages), apple cider, and jarred goodies (tomato sauce, sweet and savory jams and jellies, pickled veggies) and FRESH KALE!
